On February 21, Mr. Wang Weizhong, Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, along with Mr. Wang Youming, Director General of Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau, met with the Airbus delegation led by CEO Tom Enders. Mr. Enders spoke about the Airbus innovation center established in Shenzhen in November 2017. As Airbus’s second innovation center in the world and its only innovation center in the Asia Pacific region, the Shenzhen-based Airbus innovation center aims to integrate local strengths including innovative talents, partners and ecosystems, with Airbus’ expertise in aerospace to explore breakthrough technologies, business models and new opportunities for growth. After one year of operation, the innovation center has launched innovation projects in smart hardware, cabin experience, interconnection technology, urban air transportation and other fields. It has also carried out fruitful cooperation with Huawei, Royole and other leading enterprises in Shenzhen.
Secretary Wang Weizhong remarked that the establishment of the Airbus (China) Innovation Center was a future-oriented decision. He hopes that Airbus will seize opportunities in the construction process of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and deepen its cooperation with Shenzhen through the innovation center, especially in the manufacturing and production sectors. He also emphasized that Shenzhen will provide as always a first-class business environment and continuous support.
